Pune: Shopkeeper Held For Attempting To Sexually Assault Minor Girl In Ganesh Peth By Luring Her With Chocolates

A 47-year-old shopkeeper has been detained by police after he allegedly attempted to sexually abuse a minor girl by luring her to his shop with chocolates in the Ganesh Peth area of Pune.

According to the information received, the accused allegedly called the minor girl inside his shop on the pretext of giving her chocolates and tried to kiss her and behave inappropriately with her.

The girl raised an alarm and managed to escape from the shop, following which locals informed the police.

Police officials from Faraskhana Police Station reached the spot and took the accused into custody. A case is being registered, and further investigation is underway.

Krushikesh Rawale, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 1), said, "The accused has been taken into custody, and the matter is under investigation."

This incident comes just days after a 70-year-old man was found indulging in an obscene act with his granddaughter at his residence in Pune's Parvati area.
