The administration took decisive action against the encroachments that were hampering the historical glory of Sinhagad, and the seven-day-long campaign successfully ended on Wednesday evening.
Through the joint efforts of the District Collector's office, Forest, Archaeology, Revenue, and Zila Parishad departments, unauthorized constructions on government and private land were removed, and a decisive step has been taken in a positive direction for the preservation and conservation of Sinhagad.
The state government had decided to remove encroachments on all forts and fortresses in the state before May 31. Accordingly, only Sinhagad was encroached on a large scale in the district. Taking serious note of this, District Collector Jintendra Dudi himself took the initiative.
Before taking action, notices were served to the concerned and their views were heard. The permits and documents were also checked transparently.
