3.19 lakh commuters opted for the Pune Metro on Friday. This was because several roads were closed to let the palkhis of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Sant Tukaram Maharaj reach the city from Alandi and Akurdi, respectively.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Pune Metro wrote, "Heartfelt thanks for your trust in Pune Metro! On Friday, June 20, citizens of Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad gave an overwhelming response to Pune Metro services. A remarkable 3,19,066 passengers travelled by metro on that day. To accommodate the increased footfall, 130 additional trips were operated on both Line 1 and Line 2. Pune Metro is always committed to ensuring your journey is comfortable, safe, and on time!"
