Maharashtra Minister Narhari Zirwal Calls For Strict Action Against Adulterated Food Vendors Ahead of Festivals
During the launch of the state-wide campaign ‘Saan Maharashtracha - Sankalp Anna Surakshecha’ of the Food and Drug Administration Department, Minister Narhari Zirwal highlighted the health risk of consuming adulterated food.

The minister directed that samples of various food items should be tested by August 18 and strict action be taken against the concerned establishments if any errors or defects are found in this. |
“Citizens are buying food in large quantities due to various festivals until the upcoming Diwali. During such times, there is a possibility that some vendors may use adulterated food that poses a threat to the health of citizens, so raw materials used must be tested and action be taken if adulterated food is found,” said Minister of Food and Drugs Administration Narhari Zirwal on Wednesday.
During the launch of the state-wide campaign ‘Saan Maharashtracha - Sankalp Anna Surakshecha’ of the Food and Drug Administration Department, Minister Narhari Zirwal highlighted the health risk of consuming adulterated food.
“Consuming adulterated food in daily life is dangerous for everyone’s health. During the festive season, citizens buy sweets, khava, farsan, chivda etc and the possibility of adulteration is more during this time particularly,” Zirwal said.

Zirwal also suggested that the administration should take proper precautions to ensure that food items like oil, milk, ghee do not reach the citizens using adulterated or low-quality ingredients.
