The divisional 45th Annual Flower Exhibition organized by the PWD’s Garden department will be held on February 8 and 9. Interested participants can submit their entries for the flower exhibition between January 27 and February 7, and for the garden competition between January 27 and February 4.
The flower exhibition will be held in various categories including roses in flowerpots, seasonal flowers, all-year flowers, cactus, decorative plants in pots, landscape on the spot, innovative flower decoration, garden competition, and others. The winners in all categories will be given attractive prizes. Similarly, a prize for the most attractive floral rangoli will also be awarded. Entries can be submitted to the assistant director's office, Garden Department, PWD Central Building, Adalat Road, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
Assistant Director J V Chaugule has appealed to participants to take part in the exhibition in large numbers.
Pune flower exhibition
Meanwhile, the Empress Botanical Garden in Pune is all set to host the much-awaited annual Flower Show, which will take place from Jan 24 to Jan 27. The exhibition promises to showcase a stunning array of flowers from various seasons, including roses, marigolds, gerberas, shevanti, and tuberoses.
In addition to these beautiful blooms, visitors can look forward to special displays of floral decorations, miniature gardens, bonsai plants, and cactus arrangements. Flowers sourced from different regions have already been brought to the garden, where they are being carefully maintained and arranged.
Suresh Pingle, honorary secretary of the Empress Botanical Garden, shared that the preparations are nearing completion. The exhibition will be open to the public from 9am to 7:30pm each day. Cultural programmes will also be part of the event, adding a lively touch to the floral displays.
