Thousands of residents hit the streets and organized a candle march demanding the hanging punishment for the cruel couple who killed their four-year-old adopted girl in Sillod. The protestors also demanded justice for the minor deceased. The candle march took place on Wednesday evening, highlighting the community's outrage over the tragic incident.

The march began from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Naka in Sillod City and culminated at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Chowk. A delegation of residents submitted a memorandum to the revenue department’s circle officer, A M Sonawane, demanding swift action. The memorandum emphasized that all the accused should be arrested immediately, and the charge-sheet against them should be filed without delay.

According to reports, Shaikh Faheem (35) and Fauzia Faheem Shaikh (27) from Mogalpura, Sillod, had adopted a four-year-old girl named Aayat from a man in Jalna for Rs 5,000. After adoption, the couple subjected Aayat to severe abuse, eventually breaking her limbs, which led to her death. The incident occurred in Sillod City last Wednesday. The police have arrested the couple and the man who sold the girl.

Police bandobast in place

The incident has sparked strong resentment among the residents, who have demanded strict and immediate action against the accused. A heavy police bandobast was maintained during the candle march to ensure safety.

Prominent individuals present at the march included Adv Shaikh Osman Taher, Shaikh Sohel alias Baba, Salman Pathan alias Balki, Umar Farooqui Qureshi, Shaikh Shafiq Mistry, Tanveer Nisarshah, Ajmat Asad Shah, Ameen Moin Shah, Shoaib Saeed Shaikh, Syed Azar, and several other residents.
