An engineering college in Akurdi, Pimpri Chinchwad, was rocked by a bomb threat on Tuesday morning. Parents, teachers, and children all became extremely alarmed after reading the email, which said a bomb had been planted on the property. The college administration promptly called the police after receiving the notice at approximately nine in the morning.
After the information was shared with Pimpri Chinchwad Police by collage administration, teams from the Pimpri Chinchwad Crime Branch, Dog Squad, and Bomb Disposal Squad were sent to the scene.
The squads then evacuated all students for safety reasons while the college was thoroughly searched.
Speaking with IANS, Investigating Officer Nitin Fatangare, said, "Around 8.30-9:00 AM, DY Patil College received an email stating that a mobile RDX-based ID was planted near Patil College of Engineering. Upon receiving the information, the college administration contacted us, and we immediately deployed VDS cards, DOSC cards, and cyber experts to the site. A thorough inspection of the mentioned area was conducted, and no threats were found. It has been confirmed as a hoax. All students were safely evacuated, and there is no reason for panic. We have advised DY Patil College administration to take additional security measures to ensure safety...
