The last rites of Santosh Jagdale, a resident of Pune's Karvenagar who was killed in the Pahalgam terror attack, were performed on Thursday in the presence of hundreds of citizens at the Vaikunth crematorium in Navi Peth.
His daughter, Asavari, led his funeral procession wearing the same bloodstained clothes she had donned at the time of the attack, as a grim reminder of the tragedy.
Meanwhile, Jagdale's 84-year-old mother, speaking to a local news channel, has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to take strict action against Pakistan by "bombing" the neighbouring country.

The grief-stricken mother said in Marathi, "Put a bomb on Pakistan. They have taken my son away from me. This is my appeal to PM Modi and Amit Shah. I request them with folded hands. I am 84 years old. The action should be taken until I am alive."
Jagdale, who ran an interior designing business, had gone to Kashmir with his wife Pragati and daughter Asavari. His close friend Kaustubh Ganbote and his wife Sangita, residents of Kondhwa, were also with them. In the dastardly attack, Jagdale and Ganbote lost their lives. Their mortal remains arrived around 5:30am at the Pune International Airport, where Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol was present to receive them. The remains were then taken to their respective homes, where people gathered to pay homage.
