New Delhi: Pujya Swami Swaroopananda, Global Head of Chinmaya Mission, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to invite him to inaugurate the grand culmination of the Mission’s 75-year celebrations under the Chinmaya Amrit Mohotsav. The event is scheduled to take place at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, from October 23 to 25, 2026. Swami Mitrananda accompanied him during the meeting.

The Prime Minister acknowledged the invitation and recalled his interaction with Swami Chinmayananda in Vadodara in the early 1990s. He reflected on the Mission’s longstanding contribution to spiritual growth and cultural awareness in India and globally.

During the meeting, Swami Swaroopananda outlined various initiatives being undertaken as part of the 75-year celebrations. These include the Gita Panchamrit initiative, Global Samashti Gita Chanting, Samashti Hanuman Chalisa Havans, and the Chinmaya Amrit Yatra across India. International programmes such as the Europe Thames Ganga Aarti and several outreach efforts are also being organised to promote Vedanta and collective spiritual engagement.

Swami Swaroopananda also presented the Prime Minister with a curated collection of Chinmaya publications. In addition, he shared the newly released Hindi Gita musical album composed by Ilayaraaja.

The culmination event in New Delhi is expected to bring together spiritual leaders, devotees, and participants from across India and abroad. It marks a significant milestone in Chinmaya Mission’s journey of 75 years, highlighting its role in spiritual service, cultural revival, and its contribution to society.

The celebrations aim to strengthen the Mission’s outreach and reinforce its commitment to disseminating Vedantic knowledge and fostering spiritual awareness on a global scale.
