Woman Killed, Child Among 2 Injured In Flyover Crash On Panvel-Goa Highway
According to Panvel Taluka Police, the accident occurred when a Hyundai Creta, traveling at high speed from Revdanda towards Panvel, jumped the road divider and collided head-on with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction. The impact caused the motorcycle rider and two pillion passengers to be thrown 15 to 20 feet off the flyover.

A 28-year-old woman died and two others, including a 10-year-old girl, sustained serious injuries after a speeding car rammed into a motorcycle and threw the riders off a flyover near Tara village on the Panvel-Goa Highway on Sunday afternoon.
According to Panvel Taluka Police, the accident occurred when a Hyundai Creta, traveling at high speed from Revdanda towards Panvel, jumped the road divider and collided head-on with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction. The impact caused the motorcycle rider and two pillion passengers to be thrown 15 to 20 feet off the flyover.
The deceased has been identified as Aditi Singh (28), while the injured are Salman Shah (27), who was riding the motorcycle, and Gauri Khairnar (10). All three were initially rushed to MGM Hospital in Kamothe in critical condition. Aditi Singh succumbed to her injuries later that night.
A group of people on three bikes had gone to Karnala Bird Sanctuary from Ulwe earlier in the day and were returning, searching for a restaurant near Tara village when the incident took place. The trio on the bike that met with the accident were part of the group of friends and relatives.
“The car driver, Harshad Jain, has been taken into custody and booked for reckless and dangerous driving,” a police officer said.
Police Sub-Inspector Deepak Shelke confirmed that the two injured victims have since been shifted to Apollo Hospital in Belapur for further treatment.
