Three rounds of bullets were fired at a Dharavi based man on Saturday morning when he was on his way to the toilet. The victim was taken to the hospital and is under treatment, while a search for the accused is underway. A case of attempt to murder has been registered against the unidentified accused, said police.

According to police, the accused, identified as Amir Anis Khan, 30, an auto rickshaw driver by profession, was on his way to attend nature's call when two men accosted him at Pila Bungalow near Mithi River in the Dharavi area. The incident occurred at around 11.15am on Saturday, when one of the accused duo shot three rounds of bullets on Khan.

While Khan was injured in the incident, his shooters fled the scene before anybody could arrive. Subsequently Khan was immediately rushed to the civic-run Sion Hospital. Police said that Khan is undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile, the Dharavi Police have booked the unidentified accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code for attempt to murder, common intention, along with the sections of the Arms Act. A police team is looking for the suspects and are scrutinizing the CCTV camera footage to zero in on the accused.
