Kalyan, July 20: A shocking video has surfaced on social media in which a man is seen threatening a shopkeeper after a dispute over refund in Maharashtra's Kalyan. The incident was caught on the CCTV camera installed inside the shop and the video of the incident is doing rounds on social media. It can be seen in the video that the man cuts a lehenga and blouse with the knife after the dispute escalated.
The incident occurred on Saturday (July 19) at around 6 PM in the evening. The video of the incident went viral on social media, resulting in the arrest of the accused identified as Sumit Sayani.
As per reports from NDTV, the incident occurred at a famous garment showroom in Kalyan when the man, furious over a refund dispute of Rs 32,000 lehenga, allegedly brandished a knife, tore the outfit and threatened to attack the shopkeeper after he denied the refund and asked him to take another lehenga of the same value.
Details About The Incident
As per reports, the lehenga was purchased by Sumit's fiancee a few days ago. She returned the lehenga to the store dissatisfied with the finished product and requested a refund. However, the shopkeeper denied the refund. The incident enraged Sumit, who was present at the time. In a fit of rage, he pulled out a knife from his pocket and ripped the lehenga being carried by the shopkeeper. He also slashed the blouse kept on the other side on a counter.
There are reports that he then turned to the shopkeeper and threatened saying, "I’ll cut you up like this too. Give me back the money!" The CCTV footage shows Sumit walking angrily through the store while the shopkeeper calmly picks up the torn lehenga from the floor and walks away.

Police Action
The shopkeeper registered a complaint with the Bazaarpeth Police Station in connection with the matter, after which the Sumit was arrested. He is in police custody and further inquiry is underway. There are reports that no one suffered any injuries in the incident, however, such aggressive action over a return policy has left the business owners shaken in the area.
