Mumbai: VHP Workers Protest At JJ Marg Police Station After Meat Found In Tempo In Nagpada; Probe Underway

A major uproar erupted in Nagpada after meat was allegedly found in a tempo, triggering protests by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) workers. The incident led to a massive gathering outside the JJ Marg Police Station, where VHP activists demanded immediate action against those involved.
The protesters insisted that an FIR be registered against the accused and warned that they would continue their agitation until the case was formally filed. The JJ Marg Police have begun the process of registering the case, and security has been increased in the area due to the large crowd of demonstrators.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Dr. Pravin Mundhe confirmed that police action is underway at both Nagpada and JJ Marg Police Stations following the seizure of a tempo allegedly carrying meat. He stated that some individuals filed a complaint regarding the vehicle, prompting the police to initiate legal proceedings.

Mundhe assured that the process of filing an FIR is in progress and that the situation is currently peaceful. Heavy police deployment has been arranged to maintain law and order. He added that although a crowd had gathered near the police station, they were dispersed peacefully after being made aware of the ongoing legal process.
DCP Mundhe appealed to citizens not to believe in rumors and to cooperate with the police in maintaining peace. He encouraged anyone with grievances or information to approach the police station and lodge a formal complaint, assuring that necessary action would be taken. The police have also increased security in the area to prevent any untoward incidents.
