Vasai: A disturbing incident has come to light in the Navjivan area of Vasai East, where a fish vendor was caught on camera spraying 'Red Hit'—a toxic insecticide intended for killing cockroaches—directly onto the fish displayed for sale.

The viral video, recorded by a concerned citizen, shows the vendor spraying the chemical on and around the fish, reportedly to keep flies away. Red Hit contains highly poisonous chemicals that are dangerous if they come into contact with food, posing a severe health risk of food poisoning or long-term complications for consumers.

The footage has sparked widespread public outrage on social media, with citizens and health experts condemning the act as a blatant disregard for public safety. Local residents have demanded strict and immediate action from the Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation (VVMC) and food safety authorities to stop such hazardous practices in local markets.
