Uddhav Thackeray demands removal of Guv BS Koshyari; dares CM Shinde to resign over Karnataka border row

Mumbai: Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray chief Mr Uddhav Thackeray said that the Governor Mr BS Koshyari should be immediately removed for his comment that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is an icon of "olden days".  ‘’Who is behind it, who is the person behind this rotten brain? It is time to explore this too,’’ he demanded.

Mr Thackeray lashed out at the Governor saying that ‘’We all remember that when we met here a few days ago, Mr Koshyari insulted the Marathi people of Mumbai, Thane area. I had said then that now is the time to show a Pair of Kolhapuri chappal. Even after that, this gentleman did not stop, he now said that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was an icon of olden days. Our Kolhapur District President has spoken well on this, father is a father, how can you say he is old or new? Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is our icon, he is our god.’’

Uddhav: Koshyari is playing with the identity of Maharashtra

Mr Thackeray recalled that the Governor had insulted Maharashtra's ideals including Jyotirao Phule and Savitribai Phule and it has been condemned by one and all. ‘’Now he is playing with the identity of Maharashtra,’’ he claimed.

‘’Maharashtra industries were shifted to Gujarat. Cabinet of Maharashtra, yesterday I heard that the cabinet meeting is postponed as an exceptional situation, what was the exceptional situation yesterday? The exceptional situation is that many of his people went to campaign in Gujarat. That is, they do not regret that Maharashtra has been exposed, they do not regret that the identity of Maharashtra, the deity is being insulted.,’’ said Mr Thackeray.

‘’After the Mindhe government (Shinde Fadnavis government) assumed power in Maharashtra, the state is constantly being abused. Shiv Raya is being insulted by the Governor. Everyone should unite against it. The Centre should call back the Governor. People who do not even get a place in the old age homes are being appointed as Governors,’’ he noted.

Maharashtra Karnataka Border Issue

Mr Thackeray targeted the Chief Minister Mr Eknath Shinde on the Karnataka Chief Minister Mr Basavraj Bommai’s move to lay claim over 40 villages in Jat tehsil of Sangli district and also on Akkalkot and Solapur cities. He dared Mr Shinde to speak out and resign. 

‘’Since the Mindhe government (Shinde Fadnavis government) came to power in the state, there has been disregard for Maharashtra. Now Karnataka has claimed 40 villages in the state, but the Chief Minister is not serious about it,’’ said Mr Thackeray. He further added, ‘’This  government does not know whether there is a Chief Minister or not, whether what Bommai said was said by asking his superiors, what is the role of the BJP. That should be found out.‘ He alleged that the Centre is playing with the identity of Maharashtra. 

Mr Thackeray took a dig at Mr Shinde saying that ‘’If the Chief Minister of the state is asked about this(Bommai’s claims), he will say that he will ask the Prime Minister and tell him as he sat in this position because of the blessings of Delhi. The Chief Minister will also answer that what happens if Karnataka takes 40 villages of Maharashtra, we will take Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.’’

‘’Today Maharashtra has an ED (Eknath Shinde-Devendra Fadnavis) government, a ‘’khoke’’ sarkar. Hence this situation arose,’’ claimed Mr Thackeray.
