Travelling To Dadar? Reach In Just 26 Minutes From Aarey With Mumbai Metro Line 3!

Mumbai: In a recent update shared through an X (formerly Twitter) post, Mumbai Metro Line 3 has highlighted its time-saving advantage for commuters travelling from the northern suburbs to the heart of the city. According to the post, passengers can now travel from Aarey station to Dadar in just 26 minutes, by the newly operational Aqualine, Mumbai’s fully underground Metro Line 3.

The message, captioned "Planning your travel to Dadar? Choose the #Aqualine and get to Dadar in 26 minutes from Aarey! Beat the stress of traffic and congestion and make it to your appointments on time", has received attention for its promise of reduced travel time and relief from surface traffic.

The Aqualine, officially Mumbai Metro Line 3, connects Aarey in the north to Worli, Dadar, and several other key business and residential spots. The stretch between Aarey and Dadar includes a series of important underground stations, strategically positioned to serve high-traffic areas and provide seamless travel across the city.

Mumbai Metro Line 3 Contractor Fined ₹10 Lakh For Flooding At Acharya Atre Chowk Station In Worli

In separate news story related to the Mumbai Metro line 3, the contractor handling construction of the Acharya Atre Chowk (Worli) underground station on Metro Line 3 has been penalised ₹10 lakh following severe waterlogging that disrupted operations during heavy rainfall on May 26, 2025.

Rainwater infiltrated the newly inaugurated station, causing operational disturbances and damage to infrastructure. An investigation initiated immediately after the incident identified lapses in planning and negligence in operations by the contractor, Dogus-Soma JV, as revealed through a Right to Information (RTI) query filed by activist Anil Galgali.

Galgali, who has been actively raising concerns about public infrastructure accountability, said, "Negligence in a high-stakes public project like this not only endangers passengers but also leads to financial losses. Strict enforcement of safety and construction standards is essential."

The inquiry found that a temporary fire barrier system failed, allowing rainwater and debris to flow into the station box. The resulting water damage affected multiple levels of the station, including the platform and concourse areas, ruining interior finishes and hampering metro services.
