Thane Traffic Alert: Majiwada Flyover Closed For 15 Nights Due to Metro Station Roof Work; Check Alternate Routes

Thane: The Thane city police has announced that the Majiwada Flyover will be closed from April 5 to April 20 between 10 PM and 5 AM. The information was shared via X on April 4, to facilitate the installation of the roof at the ongoing metro station construction site in Thane.

A statement shared by the Thane Traffic Department said, "From April 5 to April 20, columns will be erected for the roof of the metro station at Majiwada Metro Station, within the Kapurbawadi Traffic Sub-Division. Jack beams will be placed on these columns, and after the jack beams are installed, rafters will be erected."

This work is part of the ongoing metro project, and the closure is essential for the safe and efficient installation of the station's roof structure.

To Install Roof Of Metro Station

Due to ongoing work on the metro station, traffic police have decided to impose night-time restrictions. Officials stated that the work will involve the use of a 60-ton mobile crane to support the construction of the metro station’s roof.

This operation will take place on the main channel of the Mumbai-Nashik-Ghodbunder Majiwada bridge, near Jupiter Hospital. As a result, traffic on the Mumbai-Nashik and Ghodbunder roads will be impacted.

The traffic department emphasised that these measures are necessary to prevent congestion in the area and ensure smooth and safe traffic flow for the convenience of the public.

Check Alternate Traffic Routes

All types of vehicles going from Mumbai to Ghodbunder or Bhiwandi from Majiwada Flyover Bridge via Jupiter Junction are being 'Entry Closure' near the bifurcation at the beginning of the bridge climb in front of Viviana Mall. The vehicles on the alternate route will proceed straight ahead via the slip road opposite Jupiter Hospital and reach their destination via Kapurbawdi Circle.

The vechiles from Mumbai via Majiwada Bridge via Jupiter Junction towards Nashik are being 'Entry Closure' near the bifurcation at the beginning of the bridge climb in front of Viviana Mall. The alternate route will proceed straight ahead via the slip road opposite Jupiter Hospital and reach their destination via Golden Cross Marg.
