Thane Cyber Fraud: 53-Year-Old Ulhasnagar Man Duped Of ₹24 Lakh In Online Task Scam; Scammers Demand ₹8 Lakh For CIBIL Score Boost
In 20 days, a 53-year-old man lost over Rs 24 lakh in online task fraud. According to the police, the Ulhasnagar resident received a WhatsApp message on April 3, which offered an opportunity to earn up to Rs 1,500 daily. The scammers then told the man to create an account on the company's website, after which he was added to a Telegram group.

Mumbai: In 20 days, a 53-year-old man lost over Rs 24 lakh in online task fraud. According to the police, the Ulhasnagar resident received a WhatsApp message on April 3, which offered an opportunity to earn up to Rs 1,500 daily. The scammers then told the man to create an account on the company's website, after which he was added to a Telegram group.
After participating in an online furniture auction, Rs 1,300 reflected in his account. The fraudsters then told him that if he wished to earn big profits, he should pay hefty sums.

From April 10 to 30, the man paid Rs 24.61 lakh and could also see profit of Rs 17.75 lakh on the bogus company website. However, when he tried to withdraw the money, he was asked to pay Rs 8 lakh to increase his CIBIL score.
