Thane: A former corporator from the Shiv Sena was allegedly beaten up by a woman worker from the Shiv Sena in Kalyan on Monday. A video of the beating incident went viral on social media. The incident took place at Ahilyabai Chowk in Kalyan on Monday.
The former corporator from Shiv Sena has been identified as Mohan Ugle, a three-term corporator, and he later joined the Shiv Sena Shinde faction, while the woman has been identified as Rani Kapote, who is a worker from Shinde Sena. However, a Bhumi Pujan for the road was conducted on Sunday.
Both had a heated argument over taking credit for getting funds for this work, the Bhumi Pujan of the road near Mahindra Singh Kabul Singh school. Both were claiming that they managed to bring funds for the road, according to sources.
Rani Kapote, speaking with the media, stated that Ugle was allegedly using abusive language and she realized that his body language was odd. Thereafter, I took defensive action in response to it. During the scuffle, he allegedly touched me inappropriately.
