Palghar Crime: 17-Year-Old Boy Arrested For Allegedly Impregnating Teen Girl In Virar

Palghar, Maharashtra: A 17-year-old boy has been apprehended by the Virar police in connection with the alleged sexual assault and impregnation of a 16-year-old girl in October 2024. The incident came to light following a complaint filed by the victim's mother, a local resident.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the victim was allegedly involved in a physical relationship with the accused, who resides in the same locality. The complaint states that this interaction resulted in the minor girl becoming pregnant.
The case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (Indian Penal Code), along with Sections 4 and 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Authorities reported that the FIR was lodged on May 10, 2025, with the delay due to the transfer of documents from Agripada Police Station, where an initial case under the same sections was registered on May 9, 2025. The investigation is ongoing.
The accused is currently in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
