Nagpur: A bizarre theft in Maharashtra’s Nagpur has stunned both police and social media users after a man was caught on CCTV pulling off an audacious heist. The incident took place at a local beer shop around 1:28 am on June 5.

The CCTV footage shows the thief climbing onto the shop counter and slipping through an extremely narrow grilled window to access the cash drawer. With remarkable flexibility, the man managed to squeeze his entire body through the opening and made off with Rs 25,000 in cash.
The video of the theft quickly went viral, sparking widespread disbelief over how the thief executed the robbery with such precision. After analysing the footage, Nagpur Police reportedly arrested the accused on June 13. Cops are now trying to determine the motive behind the unusual break-in and whether the accused has a history of similar crimes.

In a similar incident in Mumbai, another theft was captured on CCTV, identical to the Nagpur break-in. A thief had jumped in through the narrow ticket counter of the Malabar Hill Walkway, just days before its inauguration, earlier this year.
According to reports, the robbery took place on March 21 at around 11:30 pm at the newly constructed ticket counter near a walkway. The video, shared on social media by Lokshahi Marathi, shows an unidentified man loitering near the location at around 11:24 pm. Minutes later, he is seen crawling through a narrow glass window into the counter area.
Once inside, the thief stole copper wires and other valuable items. He then unlocked the door from the inside and fled the scene. The entire operation lasted about four minutes and was recorded clearly on CCTV. BMC officials later visited the site to review the footage. Additional Municipal Commissioner Abhijeet Bangar confirmed that the theft had indeed occurred and assured probe into the matter.
