About Water Cut
The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) had announced an 18-hour water supply shutdown in several parts of the city due to crucial work on the Morbe main water pipeline. The planned work began at 10 am on Friday, July 18, and continued until 4 am on Saturday, July 19. During this period, a newly installed pipeline was connected to the existing Morbe line.
The 1700 mm diameter pipeline, which supplied drinking water to a large part of Navi Mumbai, ran along Palm Beach Road near the Akshar Building in Nerul Sector 46. Due to frequent leakages along this section in recent months, NMMC had installed a parallel pipeline to prevent further water loss and disruptions. The connection work was part of efforts to improve the reliability of the water supply.
