Navi Mumbai Tragedy: Traffic Constable Dies After Hydra Crane Runs Over Him Near Mahape Flyover; Driver Arrested (VIDEO)
A traffic constable attached to the Mahape traffic unit was crushed to death while on duty after being hit by a crane under the Mahape flyover on Thursday afternoon. The deceased, Constable Ganesh Patil, was regulating traffic near the Mahape Traffic Division when the incident occurred around 12.15 PM.

Navi Mumbai: A traffic constable attached to the Mahape traffic unit was crushed to death while on duty after being hit by a crane under the Mahape flyover on Thursday afternoon. The deceased, Constable Ganesh Patil, was regulating traffic near the Mahape Traffic Division when the incident occurred around 12.15 PM.
Crane Veered Off Road, Hit Officer
According to police, the crane was being driven recklessly from Rabale MIDC towards Turbhe when it veered towards the roadside and struck Patil, who was standing near the road managing traffic. The impact caused him to fall, and he was tragically run over by the vehicle.
Patil Declared Dead at Vashi Hospital
Fellow traffic police officers rushed Patil to the Navi Mumbai Municipal Hospital in Vashi, but doctors declared him dead before admission.
Driver Nabbed, Booked by Police
The crane driver, identified as Rajesh Gound, was immediately detained by the traffic police and later handed over to Turbhe MIDC Police. A case has been registered against him, and further investigation is underway.

“We have arrested the driver and the further investigations are on,” senior police inspector Abasaheb Patil from Turbhe MIDC police station said. The accused, originally from Uttar Pradesh, was a resident of Dombivali and was working as a driver on the crane that belonged to a man from Kalamboli.
