Navi Mumbai: Traffic Movement Temporarily Affected On Thane-Belapur Road After Subway Roof Catches Fire; Visuals Surface
Subway on Thane Belapur road temporarily shut after a severe fire broke out on the tin sheets. The dry grass in the station area was set on fire. The fire from the grass spread to the tin sheets on the subway which was nearby. As a result, traffic on the subway was halted for safety reasons.

Navi Mumbai: Subway on Thane Belapur road temporarily shut after a severe fire broke out on the tin sheets. The dry grass in the station area was set on fire. The fire from the grass spread to the tin sheets on the subway which was nearby.
As a result, traffic on the subway was halted for safety reasons. "We got a call at around 2pm regarding the fire, and a team left to douse. The fire was doused in an hours time after which the traffic too resumed," a fire officer from Airoli fire station said.
The subway connects the Thane-Belapur route with the interiors of Rabale. "Prima facie, the fire in the dry grass lead to fire on the roof of the subway. The subway was adjacent to the grass area. We have made a nothing of the incident at the station house," said an official from Rabale police station.

The traffic resumed once the fire was completely doused and it was crosschecked by the officials that the subway was safe for the commuters.
