Navi Mumbai Students Shine At NMMC’s Inter-School Cultural Cup

The Inter-School Cultural Cup, organised by the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) Sports and Cultural Department, is witnessing an overwhelming response from students across the city.
The event is meant to encourage and showcase artistic talent. The competition features singing, dance, short plays, and street plays, providing young performers with a prestigious platform.
The preliminary rounds of the competition commenced on March 7, 2025, and were successfully conducted over two days (March 7 and 8) across two zones (Zone 1 and Zone 2). More than 4,000 students from various schools enthusiastically participated, with 54 schools competing in singing, 65 in dance, 28 in short plays, and 23 in street plays. The initial rounds were conducted in a rehearsal format without elaborate costumes.
A panel of esteemed judges evaluated the performances:
The judges included music composer Rigved Deshpande for the singing competition, Dancer Priya Samarth for the dance category
Writer Sanket Tandel for short plays and theater directors Ravindra Wadkar and Devendra Sarkar for street plays.

Following the preliminary rounds, 20 schools have qualified for the finals in singing and dance, while 10 schools each have advanced in short plays and street plays. The finals for short plays and street plays will be held on March 12, 2025, at Vishnudas Bhave Auditorium, Vashi, while the singing and dance finals will take place on March 13, 2025, at the same venue.
The Inter-School Cultural Cup will conclude with a grand prize distribution ceremony on March 13 at 4 PM, where winners will be honored for their exceptional performances.
