Mumbai: The city of dreams is set to become infrastructural advanced city yet people suffer inconvenience while walking on the street. Bandra Railway Station recently commemorated its 160th anniversary, a new problem arose at the station's western entrance this July, pavement repair work that had only been done for ten days had collapsed. In order to improve mobility and levelling, the authorities redid the outside pavements near the car stand at the entry, which leads to the historic brown building.
Environmental activist Zoru Bhathena took the issue on his X page (@zoru75), took note of the timeline of the happenings, capturing it with photos and dates, and shared it on their X account in a thread. In the X post, Bhathena informed that the tiles were replaced in 2023, after which they were excavated on July 12.
Once the work was finished, the tiles were reinstalled poorly; by July 22, they were reported to be torn and creating difficulties for commuters, particularly during heavy rainfall, which led to tile puddles in front of Bandra railway station. The X user called out the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), for their 'shoddy work that didn't last for 10 days.'

Reportedly there is no reply from the authorities even after repeatedly been tagged and asked for resolvement or accountability on the issue. Speaking with Midday, Western Railway spokesperson stated, "The repairs in this portion of the circulating area are carried out by BMC on July 18. On that day also, it was informed to their supervisor at site about poor workmanship."
