Mumbai Shocker: Infant’s Body Found In Trash Bin At CSMI Airport; Probe Underway

Mumbai: An infant’s body was found inside a trash bin in a restroom at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on Tuesday night, causing a stir. The police have launched an investigation into the incident to find the person who abandoned the newborn.

The Sahar Police have filed a first information report against an unidentified individual after a one-year-old’s body was found dumped in a trash can in the airport’s restroom in Terminal 2 (T2).

According to the police, they received the information about the body at around 10.30pm. The body was sent to Cooper Hospital in Juhu where the doctors declared the baby dead on arrival.

The police are now analyzing CCTV footage from the airport premises and surrounding areas to identify the individual responsible for abandoning the newborn. Deputy commissioner of police (Zone 8) Manish Kalwania stated that the newborn’s body was found inside the toilet, prompting authorities to thoroughly review the CCTV footage to track down the suspect.

“The body was discovered late in the night on Tuesday after a house keeping staff opened the dustbin to clear it as a part of the daily cleaning routine. The police were immediately informed and they launched the investigation by analysing the CCTV footage of the airport,” said an internal source at the Mumbai Airport.
