A 21-year-old IIT (Indian institute of technology Bombay) student allegedly died by suicide on the IIT Mumbai campus on Saturday. He allegedly jumped from the 10th floor of an IIT Mumbai hostel at around 1:30 a.m. He was identified as Rohit Sinha. Preliminary investigations suggest that he may have taken this step due to academic stress.

Rohit was a native of Delhi and a fourth-year student in the Metallurgical Sciences faculty. The Powai police have registered an accidental death report and sent his body to a government hospital for post-mortem. No suicide note was found.
