Mumbai Rains: City & Suburbs Record Over 45 mm Of Rainfall In Past 24 Hours; IMD Issues Orange Alert In Konkan Region

Mumbai: The city of dreams is facing heavy rains and alerts in various parts of the city and in the suburbs recording swift elevation in water levels in city. Mumbai City experienced around 50 mm of rain in 24 hours BMC reported that no casualties took place.

In the last 24 hours, Mumbai City recorded 47.77 mm of rain, with the eastern suburbs receiving 33.1 mm and the western suburbs 53.92 mm. There were 7 incidents of short circuits, 11 tree or tree branch falls, and 2 house collapses reported, but no injuries occurred due to the monsoon events, according to BMC. The weather forecast for 23 July 2025 indicates a generally cloudy sky with heavy rain across the city and its suburbs, along with occasional gusty winds reaching 40-50 km/h.

High tide is expected at 11:09 hrs, measuring 4.40 meters, while the low tide will be at 17:10 hrs, at 1.84 meters. The second high tide is scheduled for 22:57 hrs at 3.75 meters, followed by a low tide on the next day at 05:06 hrs, measuring 0.50 meters.

Lake level reports as of 6:00 AM on 23 July 2025 show rising trend in Upper Vaitarna lake level at 603.51 meters with no change; Modak Sagar at 163.16 meters, also unchanged; Tansa at 128.52 meters with a slight fall; and Bhatsa at 77.79 meters with a minimal rise.

The total water content in multiple reservoirs reflects significant storage capacities, with recorded rainfall in various lakes being substantial. Upper Vaitarna's release began on 05/07/2025, while other lakes also experienced operational adjustments due to rainfall impacts.
