In the three-day period, starting from January 10, the Mumbai police conducted a special drive against the use and sale of banned nylon manja.
During the crackdown, 19 cases were registered at various police stations under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Maharashtra Police Act.
The accused have either been arrested or issued notices, accordingly. Additionally, nylon manja and other related materials worth Rs 35,350 was seized during the operation. Appealing to the public, the authorities asked to refrain from using nylon or Chinese manja as it could be life-threatening for others.
