Mumbai: Police Nab Three Habitual Offenders Within 24 Hours Of Five Gardens Robbery In Matunga
According to the police, the incident occurred on December 14, 2024, around 5:00 AM, when Malha Parshuram Giri, a vegetable vendor residing in Wadala, was walking toward Dadar to buy vegetables.

Mumbai: The Matunga Police apprehended three habitual offenders within 24 hours of a daring early-morning robbery in the Five Gardens area of Matunga. The accused had threatened vegetable vendors with a knife and robbed them of cash totaling ₹30,000. The three accused have been identified as Arbaaz Nasir Sheikh alias Baboolal (18), a street vendor selling clothes; Mohammad Rafiq Aslam Siddiqui (20), a delivery boy; and Faizan Habib Jamadar (22), a mobile cover vendor.
According to the police, the incident occurred on December 14, 2024, around 5:00 AM, when Malha Parshuram Giri, a vegetable vendor residing in Wadala, was walking toward Dadar to buy vegetables. Three unidentified individuals approached him on a red scooter, threatened him with a knife, and forcibly snatched ₹25,000 from his pocket. Similarly, another vendor, Somnath Mahadev Londhe, was robbed of ₹5,000 in the same manner.
A case was registered at the Matunga Police Station under Sections 392 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code. Acting swiftly, a special team of crime detection officers from Matunga and Antop Hill Police Stations, under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 4) Ragasudha R., initiated an investigation using technical analysis and field intelligence. Within hours, the police arrested the three accused individuals.
All three accused reside in Antop Hill, Mumbai. The police recovered the red TVS Wego scooter used in the crime, the knife used for intimidation, and ₹6,000 in cash. Further investigations are underway to determine whether the accused were involved in similar cases.
