Mumbai: Recent reports from Hurun Global indicate that Shanghai has claimed the title of Asia's Billionaire capital after overtaking Mumbai on the Billionaires list for the first time. Information published by Hurun Global shows that Shanghai has surpassed Mumbai by 92 billionaires. Mumbai now has 90, reduced by two.
India holds the third spot with 284 billionaires; for the first time in ten years, the United States tops the global list with 870 individuals, while China is not far behind with 823. The report indicates that 175 Indian billionaires experienced a rise in their wealth, whereas 109 either encountered losses or stayed the same.

Cities with most billionaires according to Hurun Global's 2024 report were: New York - 119 London - 97 Mumbai - 92 Beijing - 91 Shanghai - 87 Shenzhen - 84 Hong Kong - 65 Moscow - 59 New Delhi - 57.
Mumbai stood third after New York and London, overtalking Beijing last year, while Shenghai stood at fifth position according to Hurun Global's 2024 report of most billionaires.
