Mumbai: Western Railway has announced revised timings for the preparation of reservation charts, which will come into effect from July 14, 2025. The changes have been implemented as per the latest guidelines issued by the Railway Board and are expected to streamline charting processes across various train schedules.
According to the updated schedule, the first reservation chart for trains departing between 05:01 am and 2 pm will now be prepared by 9 pm on the previous day. For trains with departure timings between 2:01 pm and 4:00 pm, the first reservation chart will be generated by 07:30 am on the same day.
In the case of trains departing between 4:01 pm and 11:59 pm, as well as those scheduled between 00:00 midnight and 05:00 am, the first reservation chart will be prepared eight hours prior to the scheduled departure time.
Officials have clarified that there will be no changes to the existing rules for the second reservation chart, which will continue to be generated closer to the train's departure to accommodate last-minute bookings and cancellations as per the extant guidelines.
Western Railway has urged all passengers to make note of the revised charting schedule and plan accordingly, especially when checking their reservation status before travel.
"The new charting timeline is expected to reduce confusion and provide passengers with more clarity and time to make alternate arrangements if needed" said an official of Western Railway.
