Mumbai: Maharashtra's Ex-Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal received threats, and a ransom of Rs 1 crore was requested. The suspect contacted Chhagan Bhujbal and requested a ransom.

A discussion took place on the phone between Santosh Gaikwad, Bhujbal's personal assistant, and the alleged perpetrator. In this instance, the police in Nashik caught the suspect by arranging a sting operation.

The defendant falsely claimed that the Income Tax Department would conduct a raid at Chhagan Bhujbal's farmhouse in Trimbakeshwar and that he was part of that team and would assist in the operation.

A demand for a ransom of Rs 1 crore was made to Chhagan Bhujbal to assist in the Income Tax Department's raid. There was elation when Chhagan Bhujbal was demanded a ransom. Subsequently, the Nashik police promptly began probing the origin of the call and the identity of the caller. Within a matter of hours, they located the suspect.

The Nashik police arrested the accused who contacted Chhagan Bhujbal and requested a ransom by orchestrating a sting operation. The suspect contacted him from Dharampur, Gujarat, accompanied by money. Nevertheless, he was deceived into contacting him from Karanjali village in Peth taluka to receive money.

Rahul Bhusare, had requested a ransom. The individual in question resides in Karanjali village within Peth taluka. The police have taken him into custody. The authorities are questioning him.
