Mumbai News: Hoax Bomb Threat At T2 International Airport Triggers Police Probe; Caller Traced To Assam–West Bengal Border | Representational Image

Mumbai: A hoax bomb threat call warning of an explosion at Mumbai’s T2 International Airport around 6 PM on Friday prompted a swift response from the Mumbai Police. The Azad Maidan Police have registered a non-cognizable (NC) offence in the case and initiated an investigation.

According to the police, the control room received calls from three different phone numbers around 2 PM on Friday. The unidentified caller claimed that a bomb would detonate at Terminal 2 of the Mumbai airport later that evening.

Upon receiving the threat, the police registered an NC offence at Azad Maidan Police Station and launched a probe to trace the origin of the calls. A preliminary investigation revealed that the calls were made from mobile numbers active near the Assam–West Bengal border.

Dedicated police teams have been dispatched to Assam and West Bengal to trace and apprehend the person behind the hoax. Further investigation is underway.
