Mumbai News: CBI Takes Over Goa Villa Booking Fraud Case; Chandigarh Man Duped ₹20,000 For New Year Celebrations
The Economic Offences Wing of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Mumbai, has taken over the probe involving a Chandigarh resident, who was duped on the pretext of arranging a villa in Goa for him for the New Year celebrations.

Mumbai: The Economic Offences Wing of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Mumbai, has taken over the probe involving a Chandigarh resident, who was duped on the pretext of arranging a villa in Goa for him for the New Year celebrations.
According to official sources, the accused, Mohammad Goremiya, had listed 'Ruby Villa, Goa' on an online booking website for rental purpose. The complainant contacted him through the website and paid Rs 20,000 as advance for booking the villa for his family from December 25, 2024, to January 4. Excited for celebrations, they received a rude shock upon reaching Vagator, Goa, when they came to know that no such property existed there.
