Mumbai News: Brahma Kumaris Organise Anti-Addiction Drive At Malad Station For Drug-Free India Campaign

Mumbai: On the occasion of the 'Drug-Free India Campaign' and 'World No Tobacco Day', the Brahma Kumaris organised a de-addiction awareness programme at Malad railway station.
Train commuters paused to watch and understand the street play focused on addiction awareness. The play informed them about the seven-day free Rajyoga Meditation Course, explaining how the practice of meditation can help one become free from addictions like tobacco, alcohol, as well as lifestyle diseases and stress.
The programme was inaugurated on the May 30 with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by chief guest, film and TV actor Jeetendra Bharadwaj, along with Brahmakumaris Nirjabehn, Manishabehn, Swatibehn, Sandhyabehn, and Sanjaybhai.
Nirjabehn explained the objective of the event and inspired everyone to take up meditation. Bharadwaj also shared his thoughts. “In today’s society, addiction is spreading rapidly, and this beautiful street play is a powerful medium to spread awareness.”

On May 30 and 31, an LCD screen at the station premises displayed videos about the benefits of meditation and the addiction-awareness play. Informative leaflets were distributed to educate the public on the harmful effects of intoxicants and to encourage them to quit.
