Mumbai: Nawab Malik’s daughter Nilofer Malik-Khan accuses ED of fabricating & manipulation of entire case

NCP Minister Nawab Malik’s daughter Nilofer Malik-Khan broke her silence on Thursday and accused BJP of harassing the family. She also accused the Enforcement Directorate (ED) of fabricating and manipulating the entire case. On the other hand, Malik’s sister Saida Khan, who could briefly meet Malik in the ED office, said it is a political and judicial fight which her brother will fight and win.

Malik-Khan, who participated in the sit-in protest against her father’s arrest, said in the remand copy ED has stated that Malik had held the revenue minister’s post in the past when the land transaction, which is under probe, had happened. ‘’Fake cases, fake statements are what the central agencies are always doing with us. They have written in a remand copy that he was a revenue minister. But we all know he was never revenue minister,’’ she added.

“The land deal was worth Rs 55 lakh and ED made it worth Rs 300 crore. It had to be a civil suit not PMLA nor was ED’s role in this case. We are being harassed by BJP,’’ alleged Malik-Khan. She made it clear that the land was bought as they don’t disagree but there have been manipulations. She added that the family will provide all the synopsis of the land deal to NCP which will be released to the press and media shortly.

“I am glad that MVA, NCP & everybody are supporting us,’’ she noted.

“Remand copy was ready when my father entered the ED office. ED personnel literally took my father from home saying they want to question him. They put the summon on the table and ask my father to sign. However, my father refused saying that he has been brought to ED office by force without giving summon,’’ said Malik-Khan.

“Don’t we have right to live as individual Muslim. Why it is painted that every Muslim is linked with the underworld and with Dawood Ibrahim?’’ she asked angry while lashing out at BJP for its comments.

Malik-Khan explained that since her father had briefed the family member that he has information that some will come to homes and harass and trouble them. ‘’There was no question of getting harassed as we have not done anything wrong,’’ she said.

“Earlier, Narcotics Control Bureau had created problems for us, we fought and came back (referring to the arrest and release of her husband in the drug case). It is a fifth month my husband is with us and in the same month my father has been arrested without any summons,’’ she said.
