Mumbai Metro 3 Update: New Gates Open At Jagannath Shankar Sheth, Acharya Atre Chowk & Worli Stations; Access To THESE Landmarks Improved

Mumbai: The Mumbai Metro Line 3, also known as Aqua Line, has informed passengers of the opening of new gates at Jagannath Shankar Sheth, Acharya Atre Chowk & Worli Station. With the opening of the new entry/exit gates, travelling to Maratha Mandir, Kamala Mills compound, and MCGM Engineering Hub will now become easy for commuters.

Which Gates Will Open At The Three Stations?

Mumbai Metro has announced gate openings at three stations for commuter convenience. At Jagannath Shankar Sheth (Mumbai Central), Gate B4 opens for access to Maratha Mandir. Acharya Atre Chowk will open Gates A1 and A2 near MCGM Engineering Hub, while Worli Metro Station's Gate A2 opens near Kamala Mills Compound.

Meanwhile, the Aqua Line, Mumbai’s first fully underground metro corridor, has significantly improved north-south connectivity in the city and has been the preferred mode of transport for people.

However, the lack of network access in underground sections has emerged as a key commuter concern since operations began. However, earlier Vodafone services were functional between Aarey JVLR and Acharya Atre Chowk stations, but now that too has stopped, raising serious safety concerns, especially during emergencies.

Recently, Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Milind Deora also urged the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRCL) to provide Wi-Fi services on the Line 3 until seamless mobile connectivity is enabled across the corridor.
