Mumbai: International passengers arriving from UAE now exempted from compulsorily 7-day home quarantine, RT-PCR on arrival
International passengers arriving in Mumbai from UAE, including Dubai, are now exempted from the compulsorily seven-day home quarantine and RT-PCR on arrival stated a notification issued by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Sunday. The modification in the previous SoP applicable for the international passengers arriving in Mumbai from UAE, including Dubai will be enforced with effect from midnight on January 17, 2022, the notification further stated.
BMC assistant commissioner of K east ward Prashant Sapkale said: " Modifications have been made to the previous SoPs for incoming international passengers. Unlike other international passengers arriving in Mumbai from "at-risk" countries, those coming from Dubai or other places in UAE will be exempted from the special SoPs.
After Omicron cases started rapidly increasing, BMC on December 29 made it mandatory for all those arriving in Mumbai airport from the United Arab Emirates (USE), including Dubai, to undergo a seven-day home quarantine and on-arrival RT-PCR test.

As per these special SOPs, seven days home quarantine and on arrival RT-PCR test was made mandatory for such passengers. The directives are now revised."
