Mumbai: Former Mayor Kishori Pednekar appeared before the Dadar Police Station on Tuesday, where she was questioned for two and a half hours. It was the second time she was called before the police in the span of ten days as she visited the Dadar police station last Friday, but the Senior PI of Dadar police station was on leave.

Dadar Police have registered a case of cheating against two BMC officers, Sanjay Lokahnde and Sanjay Kamble, along with a tout, Chandrakant Chavan.

The trio has been accused of duping eight to nine people of Rs 1.03 crore under the pretext of availing SRA flats at cheaper rates. There are allegations that Whatsapp chats were shared between Pednekar and the accused. Pednekar's name had cropped up during the interrogation of an accused in the case, which is being probed by Dadar Police after it was registered in June.

Not called for further inquiry

After coming out of the police station, Kishori Pednekar, while speaking to the media, said, " I was there in the police station for two and a half hours. I gave answers to those questions which I knew. I have not been called for further inquiry. " She added.

"Earlier, I told them I would be busy for the next three days. But, I assured them that I would most certainly come. Why should I be afraid if I have done nothing wrong," she said. I have answered those questions whose answers I knew. And there is no need to answer every question," She added.

"The way it has been portrayed is not even 10 percent true. I am fighting lawfully. So I will not give answers to any allegations. I will meet CM Eknath Shinde and CM Devendra Fadnavis, being an old Shiv-Sainik. " She told the media.
