Mumbai: A shocking incident has emerged from Kamaraj Nagar, Ghatkopar, where a father brutally murdered his four-month-old daughter, triggering widespread outrage in the area. The police have arrested the accused and launched an investigation.
According to the police, the accused has been identified as 40-year-old Sanjay Kokare. He had three children but was reportedly unhappy with the birth of his third child, a daughter. He already had two sons and allegedly resented having a daughter. This led to frequent arguments and fights with his wife.
On March 1, while his wife was away at work, Kokare allegedly strangled his infant daughter using a curtain cord, killing her on the spot. When his wife returned home, she found their daughter lifeless. Shocked and devastated, she immediately approached the Pantnagar Police Station and lodged a complaint against her husband.
Following the complaint, the police swiftly arrested Sanjay Kokare and booked him for murder. Investigators are now examining whether Kokare was mentally stable at the time of the crime or if he acted purely out of anger and resentment.
