Mumbai Civic Polls 2025: BMC School Teachers Assigned Electoral Roll Revision Duty, Honorarium Announced
Ahead of the 2025 BMC elections, the municipal school teachers have been given additional duties to work on the revision of the electoral rolls. The election commission will soon release the revised electoral rolls, and as per the commission’s directives, the education department staff have been appointed as polling station officers.

Mumbai: Ahead of the 2025 BMC elections, the municipal school teachers have been given additional duties to work on the revision of the electoral rolls. The election commission will soon release the revised electoral rolls, and as per the commission’s directives, the education department staff have been appointed as polling station officers.
However, the teachers do not have to report physically to the voter registration office and will work online along with their regular duties. The BMC in its statement on Monday, clarified that the education department staff will be paid honorarium as per the Election Commission rules.

Meanwhile, the election department of the BMC as started its ground visits to decide the ward boundaries. The final delimitation of the 227 electoral wards is expected to be notified by September 4. The BMC polls are likely to be held in October-November 2025.
