The Central Railway (CR) on Monday announced ten more AC EMU services, replacing the existing non-AC locals. With this, the number of AC local train services on CR will reach up to 66. The total number of 1,810 suburban services on Mumbai division will remain unchanged. Currently 56 AC local services are being operated by CR on weekdays.

The services will be operational for Badlapur, Thane and Kalyan commuters. However, the date of introduction of these services was not declared, but sources said that by the end of this month these services will be operational.

Confirming the development, a senior officer of CR said, "Of these ten proposed AC local services, four will be introduced between CSMT-Thane (2 up +2 down), four between CSMT-Badlapur ( 2 up + 2 down) and two between CSMT-Kalyan (1 up+1 down).
