Mumbai: BMC to conduct evaluation to gauge students' understanding level and education skills of teachers

In the last few years, BMC has improved the standards of schools. BMC started CBSE, ICSE, Cambridge, and International curricula in its schools. BMC has also renovated school buildings and started digital classrooms.

The Education Department of BMC has decided to conduct an evaluation of students and teachers to measure students' understanding level and the education skills of teachers. According to BMC, since 2020 when the lockdown was declared many students attended online schools. After two years, Now they are attending offline schools. Therefore, an assessment of their understanding is need to be done.

A written examination will be conducted by July end for this evaluation. A question paper will be prepared for students as well as teachers of BMC-run schools. The written exam will be conducted in the last week of July.

Joint Commissioner, Ajit Kumbhar Said to FPJ, "We all know how students attended online schools. We want to judge their understanding level if we find some shortcomings we will help them to improve. Similarly, with teachers, we have no doubt about their eligibility but lots of time has passed in between. We will also assess them and help them to improve."

" After the written assessment, we will conduct some exercises to improve their skills and understanding. After six months we will again check students' understanding level and teachers' skills to see if our exercise working or not," Said Kumbhar.

"We don't want traditional stereotype teaching method. Teachers should teach students innovatively. Students should understand the topic easily," Kumbhar added.
