Mumbai beaches to be open for general public from 6 am to 10 am due to heavy rain
Mumbaikars had no respite from heavy rains which continued to lash the city for the fourth consecutive day on Thursday, delaying local train services on the Central Railway route following a wall collapse on a track, officials said.

BrihanMumbai Municipal corporation (BMC) has restricted citizens from visiting beaches during orange and red alert in monsoon. The decision has been taken to avoid drowning incidents on beaches. But BMC has kept beaches open from Morning 06 am to 10 am for the people.
BMC commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal has issued circular and informed fire brigade, Police department, lifeguards and beach maintenance staff to implement the order. Circular stated, "In view of drowning incidents this year on various beaches in Mumbai, it is directed that during the period of Orange and red alert by IMD, beaches of Mumbai shall be open for general public 6 am to 10 am only. Necessary instructions should be placed on all such beaches to inform the public of these restrictions."
Chief Fire brigade officer, Hemant Parab said, "We will completely obey orders of Commissioner sir. We will put up boards on the beaches, we will also make announcement on beaches. We will also take help of Police to restrict citizens."
IMD has given red alert for Friday and Orange alert for next five days. On Thursday, 125 MM rainfall was recorded at Santacruz and 110 MM rainfall recorded at Colaba.
There are seven beaches in Mumbai, Girgaum, Dadar, Juhu, Malad Marve, Gorai, aksa, Versova beaches during this monsoon 7 people have died on the beaches of Mumbai. BMC has deployed 94 lifeguards on the beaches.
On Thursday, a rainfall was noticed various parts of the city people were seen finding ways from water logging to their home at Andheri, Ghatkopar, Chembur, Dharavi, Dadar and Wadala areas.
