Mumbai Airport News: DRI Arrests 41-Year-Old Kozhikode Man For Smuggling Hydroponic Weed Worth ₹7.28 Crore From Bangkok At CSMIA
According to the DRI sources, specific intelligence was gathered by DRI, Mumbai which indicated that one Indian national Muneer Venneettum Kuzhiyil (41), a resident of Kozhikode will be arriving at CSMI Airport, Mumbai from Bangkok on Wednesday and Kuzhiyil might be carrying some narcotic substance concealed in his baggage.

Mumbai: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) officials have arrested a man for allegedly smuggling Hydroponic Weed collectively valued at over Rs 7.28 crore.
According to the DRI sources, specific intelligence was gathered by DRI, Mumbai which indicated that one Indian national Muneer Venneettum Kuzhiyil (41), a resident of Kozhikode will be arriving at CSMI Airport, Mumbai from Bangkok on Wednesday and Kuzhiyil might be carrying some narcotic substance concealed in his baggage.
Acting on the said intelligence, DRI officers intercepted the said passenger at the airport. Search of his trolley bag resulted in recovery and seizure of 35 packets containing 7287 grams of weed valued at Rs 7.28 crore. He was then placed under arrest.

However, he was getting handsome amount of quick and easy money in lieu of smuggling the contraband to India. The preliminary Investigation carried out so far disclose involvement of other persons who are yet to be traced in the commission of the offence. The investigations in the case are at a very preliminary stage and efforts are being made to identify and apprehend key members of the drug cartel," said a Customs source.
