Mumbai: 78-Year-Old Man Injured After Being Hit By Speeding 'Sports Bike' On Sahar Road; VIDEO Surfaces

Mumbai: In a shocking incident, a tragic road accident occurred in Mumbai on December 13, 2024, on Sahar Road in Andheri East. A 78-year-old man, Mangilal Kothari, was seriously injured when a speeding motorcyclist hit him while he was crossing the road near Kol Dongri. The horrific accident was caught on the CCTV camera installed in the area and the video of the incident is doing rounds on social media.

It can be seen in the video that the elderly man was hit by the bike due to which he was flung into the air. He then fell on the divider on the main road due to which he suffered injuries to his head and other parts of the body. The people present on the spot rush towards the man who fell to the ground in the middle of the road and try to pick him up. The biker, however, fled the spot after the collision.

As per reports from Lokmat Times, victim Mangilal Kothari who was a resident of Kol Dongri for the past 40 years, was returning home from his son’s textile shop which is located on Sahar Road. The accident occurred at around 8:10 PM, while crossing the road near ICICI Bank, he was hit by the unidentified high-speed motorbike. Witnesses reported that the motorcyclist fled the scene without stopping to help.

Mangilal was initially taken to Jeevan Vikas Hospital but had to be transferred to CritiCare Hospital due to the severity of his injuries. Doctors revealed that he suffered serious head trauma, a fractured left leg, injuries to his right hand, and bleeding from his right ear.

A complaint has been filed against the biker accusing him of reckless driving and failing to assist after the accident. There are reports that the bike with which the accident occurred was a sports bike and the rider was driving carelessly at a high speed.

The Vile Parle Police registered the case and have initiated an investigation into the accident. They are also examining the CCTV footage and also the other CCTV cameras installed in the area. They have launched a search operation to nab the accused.
