Mumbai: Governor CP Radhakrishnan praised the Indian Merchants' Chamber (IMC) and Keshav Shrusti on Friday for developing a Miyawaki forest at the Raj Bhavan.
Highlighting the initiative's environmental significance, he urged the chamber to replicate similar forests in state universities and engage the students in conservation efforts.

He specially thanked the gardeners who help create the forest comprising 2,000 saplings of 48 varieties on the western sea front of Raj Bhavan on a plot measuring 6,000 sq ft. Those present included the Vice President of IMC, Sunita Ramnathkar, trustee, IMC Centenary Trust, Niraj Bajaj, Vice President, IMC ladies' wing, Rajyalakshmi Rao, Managing Director of Canco Advertising, Ramesh Narayan, and Co-Chairman IMC Young Leaders' Forum, Ateet Sanghavi.
