Maha Mumbai Metro In Tie-Up With Honda, Sets Up EV Battery Swapping Stations At 31 Transit Hubs
Partnering with Honda Power Pack Energy India, Maha Mumbai Metro has installed E:swap Battery Swapping Stations at 25 metro stations on Lines 2A and 7, along with 6 Monorail stations , with the first operational unit already functional at Dahisar East Metro Station.

The Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Ltd (MMMOCL), unveiled a landmark electric mobility initiative on Tuesday. The launch was led by Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Eknath Shinde.
Partnering with Honda Power Pack Energy India, Maha Mumbai Metro has installed E\:swap Battery Swapping Stations at 25 metro stations on Lines 2A and 7, along with 6 Monorail stations , with the first operational unit already functional at Dahisar East Metro Station.
This initiative — part of the EV Policy approved in MMMOCL’s 29th Board Meeting— is designed to support two- and three-wheeler EV users with rapid battery swaps in under two minutes, powered by Honda’s Mobile Power Pack e: system.
The project is expected to generate an estimated Rs 30 lakh in non-fare box revenue.
On the eve of World Environment Day, this step underscores the government’s commitment to green mobility and reducing urban pollution.
